Chargers News: Sebastian Joseph-Day Comments on Release From Bolts
The Los Angeles Chargers made a questionable and shocking move when they decided to cut team captain and defensive lineman standout Sebastian Joseph-Day. Though it seemed like the wrong move, it could serve as one of the many of the tough decisions the team will need to make this offseason.
The Chargers are reportedly around $40 million over the cap next season. This means that many high-profile players could be cut or traded to allow the team the capabilities to bring in new talent.
Joseph-Day was the first piece moved, and now he has responded after being cut. Joseph-Day was officially picked up by the San Francisco 49ers, who are current Super Bowl favorites.
“I think I’ll keep those comments to myself,” Joseph-Day told Bay Area reporters. “I’m lucky to be here. It’s a new opportunity. I’m just thankful to be part of this organization. I’m focused on that right now. I’m just thankful I’m in a great situation with a great team and a lot of great players.”

Instead of potentially trashing the Chargers or saying anything bad about the team. Joseph-Day chose to keep his feelings about being released to himself. He is just happy to be with the Niners.
Joseph-Day was likely upset with the trajectory that the Bolts were on, and now he is on a team that has a legitimate chance to win a championship.
We will see who else joins Joseph-Day in the weeks after the season ends. His release was shocking, and we imagine more of these moves are on the way as well.
