Chargers News: SJD Believes 2022 Failure Helped LA's Chemistry
When a sports team suffers a playoff failure like the Los Angeles Chargers did back in the 2022, it is not uncommon to see the team blow up after that and it goes just beyond football. Some firings and massive trades will usually follow as the front office cannot understand how such a loss could occur.
However, the Bolts know the potential of this squad they've put together. With the likes of Justin Herbert and Mike Williams headlining the offense and Khalil Mack and Eric Kendricks manning the defense, the skill and experience is all there.
And the entire organization knows how bad they let the fanbase and community of Los Angeles down when they allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to storm back from down 27 in the wild card round of the playoffs.
By no means does LA want their players to dwell on their loss months later but it has been a focal point of their mindset as they prepare to ramp up offseason workouts. The addition of Kellen Moore as their newest offensive coordinator was primarily to ensure their playbook would not get stagnant late in the year.
Chargers' DE Sebastian Joseph-Day touched on exactly how the team responded to their tragic end to the year and what their mindset is now.
"We have a lot of younger guys – Zont [CB Asante Samuel Jr.] Vato [CB Michael Davis], other people in the backfield – that kind of were playing together for the first time," Joseph-Day added. "I feel like, this year, that chemistry was built. I feel like chemistry is built through trials and tribulations and I really believe that that really is going to shape us in a way better way moving forward."

They definitely never want to feel that playoff-loss pain again.
