The Los Angeles Chargers ended their 2022 season the worst possible way any team can, losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars after giving up a 27-point lead in the wild-card round. It was embarrassing for the Chargers organization, players, and their fanbase.

It was an unexpected and unnecessary loss for the club, but many could consider it a way to come back stronger for the following season. That is precisely how Chargers defensive lineman Sebastian Joesph Day views it heading into the 2023 season.

He joined Good Morning Football at their breakfast table and said the team would use last season's playoff loss as motivation

“It stings,” Joseph-Day said of the Chargers’ loss. “I always try to use it as motivation. I look at it in this perspective — In 2020, when we (the Rams) had the number one defense with (then-Rams defensive coordinator) Brandon Staley, we lost in kind of that tough fashion to Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau.

That loss was not pretty, but Joesph-Day feels experience is critical, and the Bolts have that now due to last year's playoffs.

“So, I kind of look at it like that, you know? We got our taste of playoffs. We all got to experience it. The team was young. And also it was so new. It’s one thing when you have the team but really good players. But it’s also another thing putting it all together. I think that experience, we’ve got to put it all together, and we have another shot like 2020.”

This Chargers team has the talent and ability to be one of the best teams in their conference, and that says something in a loaded AFC. According to legal sports report, the Chargers have the eighth-best odds of winning the Super Bowl at +2500, with four AFC teams ahead of them.

Sebastian Joesph-Day will continue to play a vital role on the line and has that championship pedigree that the Bolts need to reach the promise land.

The Chargers will be coming for vengeance in 2023, and their fans are itching for the season to start. Be weary, NFL teams.
