Your Los Angeles Chargers have had the blessing of playing in one of the most beautiful and cutting-edge complexes in all of sports for the past three years. SoFi Stadium is home to both the Bolts and also their city-rival Rams. It can hold about 70,000 people at once and serves as a popular venue for not just these NFL teams but also numerous concerts and gatherings.

However, the owners of SoFi have been looking to take their partnerships a step further and host the championship game of the next World Cup in 2026. They have been named as finalists for the opportunity and it would definitely be the biggest event to ever take place under their free-standing roof.

Just two seasons ago, Super Bowl LVI was played in SoFi Stadium and the city of Inglewood took full advantage of the day. The halftime show was headlined by some of the greatest artists to ever come from the area and the successful marketing of the game has given them a greater chance at landing the bid for the World Cup.

Unfortunately, it is looking like the structure of SoFi Stadium may keep them from hosting the international tournament's championship game. The Times in England has reported that, as of now, the Chargers' home field is about 63 feet too narrow for the World Cup's requirements.

This is a huge blow for the city of Inglewood and owners of SoFi if field measurements keep them from winning the bid. The amount of national attention and viewership that this match draws is almost impossible to match from any other sporting events.

We will keep you guys updated as this unfolds !
