Chargers News: Star RB Reflects On How LA Relies On His Offense
Your Los Angeles Chargers have a talented team on both sides of the ball. Their team is filled with All-Pro and Pro Bowl players; however, their most dynamic player has yet to make any of these teams, which happens to be star running back Austin Ekeler.
The fact that he has yet to make a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team is baffling. The 28-year-old has proven to be among the best at his position and among the best offensive players in the league due to his versatility.
Ekeler can do anything that is asked of him, and he does it with no complaints or hesitation. The star running back has proven time and time again how important he is to this Charger offense, and he discussed how he does all he can to better the offense, whether that's through the air or ground.
"Each game, like [Chargers head coach Brandon] Staley says, has a life of its own," Ekeler said. "We don't necessarily know what that's going to be until we get into the flow of the game. Whether it's the run game having a predominant presence in the game or the pass game, if I'm able to contribute in both, that makes me a better player for this team.
"Doesn't matter if we throw it, great. If we're going to be able to run it, I could still do that as well," Ekeler added. "I think that's what's helped me stay around as long as I have and make the impact that I have as long as I have been."

Ekeler can do it all. You want Ekeler to play receiver out of the backfield? No problem. You want him to play the every down back and hand it off? No problem.
This season on the ground may not be his best as he's dealt with injuries, but he has still rushed for 265 yards on 73 carries, three touchdowns for his longest going for 55 yards. As for the receiving aspect, he has 18 receptions for 200 yards and one touchdown.
LA's star running back is a massive part of Kellen Moore's offense, and we cannot wait to see what else he can do once he has his feet under him.
