We know.. the Los Angeles Chargers continue to get linked to every single running back that becomes available but the reality is that this will continue to be the case until Austin Ekeler signs a deal either with LA or without.

Ezekiel Elliot is still on the market, Bijan Robinson is about to hit the league when the draft rolls around, and Damien Harris has also been a name thrown out there. However, there have been reasons behind why all of these moves may not work out.

But the Minnesota Vikings are looking to part ways with their own star RB and maybe, just maybe, the Bolts have found the answer to their problems. Dalvin Cook has been nothing short of spectacular for the Vikings these past few seasons but they simply do not want to take on the finances that come with having him on their roster.

Cook has been named a Pro-Bowler the past four years and he also rushed for over 1,000 yards in 2022. He was a huge part as to why Minnesota finished the year first place in their division and went 13-4.

Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport believes that as long the Chargers are able to pull off a trade that gets Ekeler off the squad, it's highly likely that they pursue Cook after a release.

"The former is admittedly easier said than done. But if the Chargers could do it, Cook would make a lot of sense. Los Angeles is in win-now mode, and in many respects the 5'10", 210-pound Cook is a slightly bigger Ekeler (5'10", 200 lbs)—both are excellent receivers out of the backfield. The Bolts offense wouldn't miss a beat going from one to the other."

This would be an insane substitute at the running back position and very ideal for LA.
