Chargers News: Watch Derwin James Pick Off Justin Herbert in 2023 Minicamp
The Los Angeles Chargers are on a month-long break after OTAs and mini-camp that concluded last week. Many of their top players showed up and showed out in their mini-camp sessions, including superstar safety Derwin James.
There were many bright spots in the Bolts' practice sessions, but none were brighter than the defense. This season will be a big one for the defense as they will try and prove last season was a fluke. They're off to the right start in showcasing their defense as they hold their own in mini-camp against star QB Justin Herbert.
On the final day of mini-camp, the team ran a seven-on-seven drill, and James did what he does best, make his opponents look silly with a one-handed interception.
James looked like a wide receiver on that play with his elevation and the ability to bring it down and control the ball.
There's nothing he can't do on the defensive side of the ball. He's the best safety in the league, and the gap is quite substantial. The one-time All-Pro will try to earn that award once again while leading his team to the best defense in the league.
We can't wait to see him and the defense ball out with their star talent all around the field.
