The Los Angeles Chargers have Jim Harbaugh as their new head coach and a new era of football is in LA. With Harbaugh coming over, he has also hired a brand-new staff.

One of those staff members is former Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who has followed Harbaugh to the Chargers. Minter was responsible for turning the defense of the Wolverines into their namesake.

During Super Bowl weekend, Chargers.com caught up with analysts on Radio Row to ask what they think of Minter joining Harbaugh's staff.

Will Brinson of CBS Sports stated that Minter is "expected to bring an aggressive blitzing type of defense.

Field Yates of ESPN says "The Michigan defense was incredibly overwhelming, and creative last year."

Sam Monson of PFF says Michigan's defense is "More aggressive and willing to change up its looks up front. Whether it's coming after you with blitz, whether it is simulating pressure creepers, using defensive backs on the blitz as well."

Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk says Michigan's defense, "They have different ways of attracting you and different ways of stopping you, which translates well to the NFL."

The Chargers have two of the fiercest linebackers in Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, so if they can be utilized in any degree that Minter used his skill players, the league had better be on notice.

The excitement for the 2024 season is palpable and it's in large part because Harbaugh is set to bring a new toughness and physicality to the Chargers. It sounds like the new DC Minter will also be rebranding the team's defense into something to behold.
