Chargers Release Rookie Quarterback Max Duggan

Short-lived time in LA for the rookie QB

The Los Angeles Chargers have waived their 2023 seventh-round draft pick QB Max Duggan

NFL insider Tom Pelissero was among the first to report.

The Chargers selected Duggan in this year's draft out of TCU, and was poised to fight for the QB2 spot with Easton Stick.

However, Duggan never had a chance to shine during training camp and throughout the preseason. In his latest outing, he completed four passes out of nine with a completion percentage of 44.4, 15 yards, and one touchdown.

The Chargers have decided to go with two quarterbacks on their roster as of right now. There is a chance that Duggan can make the practice squad, but we'll see what the Chargers decide to do on that front.

Duggan's time in LA may not be done, but there is no chance of him making the 53-man roster. We'll keep a close eye on Duggan for the next handful of days.
