We're almost one month into NFL's free agency, and your Los Angeles Chargers have been relatively non-existent on that front. Yes, the Chargers signed All-Pro Eric Kendricks, but other than that, they haven't made any major splashes this free agency. Luckily for the Bolts, they retained most of their players from the 2022 season.

However, the Austin Ekeler situation is still there, and we're all unsure whether he'll be back with the Chargers, including their star running back. There is a possibility that the Chargers will move Ekeler, and if that becomes a reality, then another star running back be donning the powder blue.

According to NFL rumors, the Bolts are one of two teams that could be a landing spot for former All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliot.

The Dallas Cowboys released Elliot before the start of free agency, and can sign with any team.

The Chargers have a legit shot at signing the 27-year-old, and Bleacher Reports Maurice Morton believes LA is the place for Elliot.

If Elliott is willing to expand his options, he should follow his former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to the Los Angeles Chargers. Los Angeles has an unsettled contract situation with running back Austin Ekeler.

Elliott could fill a void in the Chargers backfield or complement Ekeler—similar to his role alongside Tony Pollard in Dallas over the past few years.

Elliot would be a terrific replacement for Ekeler if he ends up with another team. It might be better for LA to replace him with a younger talent through the draft, but Ezekiel still has some gas in the tank. He could be used as a Jamaal Williams type with the Lions last season in goal-line situations.

Not only could he be a real threat to this soon-to-be explosive Charger offense, but he will be affordable. On top of that, he'll know the offense because of former Cowboys OC Kellen Moore. The pieces are there; we'll see if the Chargers pull the trigger.
