The Los Angeles Chargers enter the offseason needing help all over their roster. After a frustrating 5-12 finish this past season, the Bolts will be looking to turn things around by winning the summer.

This could look like them excelling in the NFL Draft, figuring out their cap situation to land some talent in free agency or even making some trades. They currently hold the 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft, and many believe they will take either a wide receiver or an offensive lineman.

But the Bolts could take the lineman at five to boost up their protection of star quarterback Justin Herbert, while also getting a dynamic wide receiver through the trade market. One name that has been a hot commodity of late is Tee Higgins of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Higgins was just placed with the franchise tag by Cincinnati, but there is plenty of thought that the Bengals could now look to move him. ESPN NFL Analyst Dan Graziano fueled the fire of this in his latest report, saying that it has been thought that the Bengals tagged Higgins to then trade him away.

“With a Ja'Marr Chase extension likely coming this offseason or next, Cincinnati might not be able to keep the band together around Joe Burrow much longer.”

If this is true, the Chargers should do whatever they can to land the receiver from the Bengals. He would instantly make this offense even stronger and would complement Keenan Allen extremely well.

Higgins is a known force in the NFL and is only 25 years old. He has gotten better each season, and with the Chargers now in win mode, it may be better to land a proven receiver, rather than trust a rookie.

They could likely net Higgins for their second-round pick, and maybe some additional draft filler, but it would be worth it. Higgins is a star in this league and would thrive with the free-flowing Herbert throwing him the ball.
