There have been nothing but rumors flying around that Quentin Johnston was brought into the Chargers' franchise so that way they would have an excuse to trade Keenan Allen and that just could not be further from the truth.

LA's front office is on a mission to try and put together an offense more dynamic than the NFL has ever seen. They have a quarterback that can be the face of the league one day with Justin Herbert and history has shown that this is your best bet at winning a Super Bowl. The addition of Johnston was merely to add yet another weapon to a growing squad.

The biggest problem with the Chargers in 2022 was that the entire group was rarely all on the field together. Once one star got healthy, another one would go down and it ultimately led to an early exit for them. However, this season serves to be different with fresh legs and Allen has already had a lot of good things to say about the TCU WR.

"He's a phenomenal athlete," said Allen. "His athletic ability is through the roof."

There are no lies detected here. Johnston possesses size and ability that his predecessors do not and is coming off of a collegiate season at TCU that saw him take a trip to the National Championship.

Obviously at some point, LA will hope for him to take on the reigns as the number one option for them at WR but not just yet. He will still be of value but he should definitely try to learn everything he can from Allen and Mike Williams.

Get ready for an electric rookie campaign from Johnston!
