Joshua Palmer will be entering his third and likely most important season yet with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 as we will really see how he'll be able to find a role within Kellen Moore's new offensive system. The touchdowns and long bombs will be on full display now that he has arrived and I think that Palmer will love it.

In 2022, he was able to suit up for 16 games while starting in 11 of them and doubling his production when it came to total yards and receptions compared to his rookie season. He developed much better chemistry with Justin Herbert and even though a number of key players went down with injury, Palmer stayed strong for the most part.

However, the biggest question about Palmer's future with the franchise is how will his role change now that Quentin Johnston has been added to the mix? Obviously, the rookie coming out of TCU will not be labeled as a top option right off the jump but LA will certainly want to see what he brings on the actual field.

But, like I mentioned earlier, this is where the brains of Moore will come in. He proved in his time with the Dallas Cowboys that he likes to utilize of his weapons and keep defenses on their toes.

Chargers' WR coach Chris Beatty has shared a ton of optimism for their group heading into the new season and he detailed exactly what Palmer brings to the squad, noting him as a guy that can hold it down when stars are out.

"He had 70-plus catches last year and really played every position. If Keenan was out, he was Keenan. If Mike was out, he was Mike. If both were in, then he had to adjust his game that way. He had some huge games, I think he had three 100-yard games for us last year and I think he made some big plays and really carried us in the second Kansas City game here at home. He's got the ability to be fluid because he does have some Mike in his game with his size, but he's got some Keenan with his twitchiness."

It will be huge if LA can continue maximizing him in 2023.
