Chargers Find Themselves In Troubling Pattern After Another Close Loss

Some of these games have to go their way, right?
In this story:

Your Los Angeles Chargers have now fallen to a 2-3 record on their 2023 season after suffering a brutal 20-17 loss against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

The three-point loss now puts them solely in second place for most losses by three points or less over the last two seasons.

Since the start of 2022, the Chargers have had 11 of their 24 regular season games end in a 3-point or less difference.

Including the postseason it would be 12 of 25.

5 of the 11 games have gone the Chargers' way but those 6 games slipping away from them only put more pressure and weight on a team that is trying to make it far in the playoffs.

A team that has struggled in the second half of games, especially when it comes to closing them out could have ended Monday night with a 5-0 record if they managed to score 4 more points in all three of their losses this season.

The struggles in closing out games are not just on the offense as the defense has also been bad at not causing penalties to extend their opponent's drives and keep them on the field.

Discipline and working on closing out games need to be at the forefront of this team's schedule this week.

Both sides of the ball need to step up, the offense needs to gain yards and score points while the defense needs to stop shooting themselves in the foot on third down.

The Chargers are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, October 22 in what should be a close division rival matchup.

If the Chargers want to walk away the victors, they need to fix some things during this short week.
