Former Chargers Lineman Attempting NFL Comeback, Impressing At Pro Day
Fans who have supported the Chargers ever since they were playing in San Diego may remember a certain offensive lineman by the name of DJ Fluker. He was viewed as an offensive tackle and was drafted by the franchise in the first round back in 2013.
Unfortunately, Fluker did prove to be a sort of a fluke at his natural position and bounced between multiple roles during his four seasons with the Bolts. He could never find consistent production with the responsibilities that the Chargers gave him and he found his way onto three other teams before being out of the league by 2020.
However, it appears that Fluker has been working day and night to get a shot in the league again and from a workout point of view, there is a chance.
The 32-year-old first shared some pictures of his current physique on Twitter and it was later confirmed that he is sitting at a shredded 330 pounds.
Fluker would then make an appearance at Alabama's Pro Day and he is taking the internet and scouts by storm. Not only is he wowing people with the transformation he has undergone but he participated in multiple drills and looks like he hasn't lost a step at all.
His movements and strength definitely match his physical tools right now and it looks like he could potentially find a role again on an offensive line the NFL. The trainers with pads looked to be no match for Fluker and he did not seemed fazed with everybody watching.
Fluker's disappointing first couple of professional years makes it easy to forget how much hype he had coming out of college. He attended the University of Alabama and was named a First-Team All-American in his final season along with taking home three national titles in his time there.
Once Fluker gets some professional workouts in the mix, we'll definitely see how his odds of a comeback stand.
