Former Charger and Detroit Lions running back Justin Jackson announced he will officially retire from the NFL. The Lions announced Thursday morning.

The Bolts selected Jackson with the 251st overall pick in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 27-year-old spent four seasons with the Chargers and played 43 games while starting in seven. He mainly served as backup to Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler.

In four seasons with the Bolts, he had 206 rushing attempts with 1040 yards, four touchdowns, and rushed for five yards per attempt. Jackson was as solid as they come for the Bolts and did his job whenever he was on the field for them.

He spent the 2022 season with the Lions after signing a one-year deal and another deal with Detriot this past offseason. However, Jackson had a sudden change of heart, and he will hang up his cleats for good.

We wish Jackson the best in his next journey.
