How Far Would Chargers Playoff Odds Drop With Loss to Chiefs?

LA needs to escape with a win

The Los Angeles Chargers have their sixth game of the season tomorrow and their second division game. This time, they will travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on their rival, the Kansas City Chiefs.

The defending champs are picking up right where they left off, dominating on both sides of the ball, largely thanks to their superstar QB, Patrick Mahomes. It's never an easy task to beat him and the Chiefs, and being on the road only makes it more challenging.

LA is coming off another gut-wrenching loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night, dropping their record to 2-3 and third in their divsion ahead of Week 7.

Because of that and based on where the rest of the AFC stands, it's not hyperbole to say that this Sunday is a must-win for the Bolts. Not only to get back to .500 but for their playoff hopes; yes, playoff hopes in the middle of October.

But don't take our word for it; with a loss to Kansas City, PFF has the Chargers playoff chances look real dim.

It drops massively with a loss, but it goes to 39% with a win. Right now, LA's playoff odds stand at 37% so a loss would be detrimental to their hopes.

It wouldn't be the end of the season, of course, but you could never take any chances, and relying on other teams to help you out is never the way to go.

If we're being honest, I believe every week from here on out is significant for the Bolts, not only for their playoff chances but for head coach Brandon Staley. However, that may be another topic for another day.

The odds look stacked against the Chargers; we'll see how they respond.
