Keenan Allen's Madden Rating Stirs Up Charger Teammates

Six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen looks to bounce back after his previous season. He and his teammates reacted to his lower overall, adding fuel to his fire for a bounce-back campaign.

While an 89 overall for Allen places him in a three-way tie for the 12th-best WR in the upcoming game, he and his teammates believe he should at least be in the 90s.
The rating of 89 is the lowest rating for the decorated veteran in the last four years when he was also rated an 89 in Madden 20. His rating dropped two overall points from last year's game.
Why might the overall have dropped this year?
The hit videogame series likes to reward players who are available. Keenan Allen, unfortunately, missed seven games, only playing ten games last year. The missing playing time contributed to lowering ratings and snapped the veteran's six-year streak of making the Pro Bowl.
However, in those ten games, Keenan Allen looked like a top wide receiver in the league.
Averaging 75 yards a game and scoring four touchdowns on the year, his numbers did not drop. Stretched over a 17-game span, his 2022 season would have actually surpassed his 2021 year.
Moves made by the team in the offseason might force the 6'2 wideout to play in the slot while the taller players, Mike Williams and Quentin Johnson, are able to line up out wide. The latter is already making statements in the preseason and looking to challenge for a lot of snaps.
Quentin Johnston absolutely MOSSING his defender 😳

Johnston and Justin Herbert have reportedly had a “special connection” so far at Chargers training camp.
Johnston’s speed and size have reportedly caused “issues” for almost every Chargers’ DB he’s faced.

As long as the veteran's body holds up, Keenan Allen will look to have a productive 2023 and also break 10,000 receiving yards.
