Chargers News: Khalil Mack's Special Defensive Night Makes Football History
On Sunday, Khalil Mack reminded people why he's one of the best pass rushers of this generation.
The 10-year veteran was a problem in the Los Angeles Chargers' 24-17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders as Mack sacked quarterback Aidan O'Connell six times.
On the way to his sixth sack, Mack made some extra history:
Mack became the sixth player in NFL history to record six games in a game and was one shy of the record of seven set by Derrick Thomas in 1990.
In this one game, Mack propelled himself to the top of the league-wide sack leaderboards for this season. He is now tied with T.J. Watt of the Steelers for most sacks this year.
Coming into Sunday's game, Mack was unable to get to the quarterback once and hasnt recorded a sack.
Mack's historic performance was a reminder fo how dominant he can be. Last year was a down year for the edge rusher as he only recored eight sacks which was the second least in his career.
The previous year, Mack set his career low in sacks with six with the Bears.
In his career, Mack has sacked the quarterback 90.5 times. That places him 56th all-time.
Mack will look to continue the momentum going for him as the Chargers will face a tough Dallas Cowboys offensive line when they come out of their bye in Week Six.
