Entering the NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers were expected to be one of the better teams in the AFC once again. However, head coach Brandon Staley was on the hot seat after multiple years of the team underperforming.

Heading into the middle of November, Staley remains on the hot seat with the Bolts struggling once again. It seems that there is a high chance of him being fired after the year ends, but it seems that an interesting successor has come about.

NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and provided some thoughts on what could happen regarding New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. And it seems that the Chargers could be a landing spot for the future Hall of Fame coach.

If the Bolts were to land Belichick, it would be a massive hire for the franchise. He may be the one coach who could turn this team around, and finally get them over the hump.

LA has been hovering just under the elite status of teams in the AFC for some time now, and that is in part due to their coaching. Belichick has been known for his ability to get the most out of his players, and having a quarterback like Justin Herbert to work with would be great for him.

We all saw what he did with Tom Brady in New England, and while Herbert isn’t Brady, coaching could help him. This is a crucial point in the career of Herbert, so the Bolts owe it to themselves to surround him with elite coaching.

Belichick would also make the Chargers a destination spot, with players wanting to come play in Los Angeles. It would be the spark that this franchise needs, and it could also help them with becoming more popular in the city as well.

Right now, the Los Angeles Rams run the city of Los Angeles, in part because of the success that they have seen. The Chargers have fallen behind them, so this move could help even the playing field.

The Bolts should absolutely make a run at Belichick if he does become available. They haven’t lived up to standards under this current regime, and it’s time for a change.
