The Los Angeles Chargers did their best to improve their roster from top to bottom. The Bolts made some vital free-agent signings, picked up some necessary pieces in the draft, and are primed to redeem themselves in 2023.

Overall, the Chargers look like a better team and will prove that come September; however, one NFL insider doesn't think so. NFL insider for CBS Sports Cody Benjamin graded all 32 teams based on their off-season, and he graded LA a 'D,' putting them at number 30.

30. Chargers

A mega extension for QB

Justin Herbert

might salvage an otherwise ho-hum offseason, which was destined following their spending spree in 2022. LB

Eric Kendricks

might be primed for a rebound behind their talented front, but he's not exactly a difference-maker at 31, either. Their first-round investment, WR

Quentin Johnston

, could be special, but he also feels a bit redundant with Mike Williams' skill set in their attack. Maybe he'll prove us all wrong.

Putting the Chargers at 30 is criminally low. LA nailed the draft by addressing their needs and signed a crucial piece in LB Eric Kendricks. Yes, the selection of Quentin Johnston may have been repetitive, but there's no denying he is a good fit with Justin Herbert and Kelly Moore's style of offense.

LA didn't have the best offseasons, but putting them at number 30 with a 'D' letter grade is insane. At the end of the day, it's one man's opinion, and they'll need to play great football to prove that grade wrong.
