Chargers News: Refs Miss Blatant Penalty To Allow Chiefs To Score Late Touchdown To Pull Ahead In 4th

Nothing can go the Chargers' way.

In a must-win game, your Los Angeles Chargers can't seem to get anything to go their way after going (pretty much) punch-for-punch in the first half with the Kansas City Chiefs, though Kansas City led 24-17 at the break.

On a drive set up by an excellent punt return by Mecole Hardman, the Chiefs scored an easy touchdown on a screen pass to running back Isiah Pacheco, which is in the play below.

The noticeable part of this play, however, is right tackle Jawaan Taylor's false start. No. 74 on the Chiefs, the offensive linemen on the rightmost part of the line, jumps before the snap is taken by Pro Bowl quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

This by definition should've been ruled a false start, but was not. Instead, the Chiefs added an insurance score and seemingly put the Chargers away for good.

Taylor was previously benched for excessive false start penalties earlier in the season, so there is certainly a precedent for these kinds of shenanigans.
