The Los Angeles Chargers have one of the biggest extensions to hand out to Justin Herbert coming soon and it appears their mind has been made up already. GM Tom Telesco revealed that he is not worried in the slightest about taking care of Herbert when the time comes and that the team 100% sees a Super Bowl in the future with him as their quarterback.

We are about to enter a a crazy few months in the NFL where, besides just Herbert, many other young QB's are likely going to get massive deals. Both Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are in the process of negotiating their own and whoever signs theirs first will set the market for the rest.

It's been reported that Herbert could see as much as $500 million head his way with this upgraded deal, which would make him the highest-paid passer in the league. If this is the case, Austin Ekeler can definitely wave goodbye to any hopes of remaining in LA. However, would this really be the best move for the Bolts?

Obviously, Herbert has already placed himself among the premier talent in the NFL and in just three seasons, he has already logged over 14,000 yards and 90 touchdowns. The only huge knock on him is lack of playoff success but LA is determined to build a better team around him so they're contending throughout his prime.

However, not everybody is bought in to Herbert getting such a big deal. NFL expert Kyle Crabbs hopped on the "Locked on NFL Scouting" podcast and shared his thoughts as to why this signing could fire back on the Bolts.

"The Chargers got to make some noise soon," said Crabbs. "Or else run the risk of you'll do the Herbert extension but you'll probably do so with concessions around the rest of the roster and then you'll almost have to take a step back and build back up again."

We'll definitely find out more details soon as to just how much Herbert is looking to get paid and how it will impact the Chargers' current and future roster. It's clear they're preparing for a big contract due to how they've monitored spending this free agency but we just don't know how big.
