Kansas City Chiefs vs. Minnesota Vikings Prediction for NFL Week 5

On Sunday, we’re in for a treat with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs taking on Kirk Cousins and the Vikings. The Chiefs are coming off a close 23-20 win over the New York Jets in a game where Zach Wilson played well for the Jets, while Patrick Mahomes had a bit of an off game, but still did enough to get KC the win.

This is definitely a bounce-back spot for Mahomes against a less talented Vikings defense allowing 20 or more points in all four of the games so far this season. We also expect a big game out of Travis Kelce, as he had 60 yards in week four but failed to find the endzone. Isiah Pacheco let the offensive attack for Kansas City with 115 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Pacheco has been consistent, and we’re predicting another solid rushing performance out of him on Sunday.

As for the Vikings, this team is yet to get a meaningful win this season. The victory over Carolina wasn’t exactly definitive, and Kirk Cousins threw a pick-six in the contest. Cousins hasn’t necessarily been the main issue for Minnesota, as he’s already thrown for an outstanding 1214 yards and 11 touchdowns thus far. Justin Jefferson has also been fantastic with 543 yards and 3 TDs through only four games.

With these numbers, you’d think the Vikings are nearly undefeated, but the offense hasn’t been enough to win games, as the Vikings are 1-3. They gave up 34 points to the Eagles in week two, and we expect a similar showing from their defense against Mahomes here on Sunday.
