The Kansas City Chiefs are on track to enter the 2024 NFL Draft with their two most obvious needs appearing at wide receiver and offensive tackle. In a new mock draft, ESPN NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. has the Chiefs addressing both spots within the first two rounds.

At No. 32 overall, Kiper has the Chiefs selecting South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette, a divisive prospect at the end of the first round. With Kiper's second selection, he adds a big name to help protect Patrick Mahomes's blindside.

64. Kansas City Chiefs: Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU

"With 2023 starter Donovan Smith unsigned, the Chiefs have Wanya Morris at left tackle but not much else," Kiper wrote. "They should bring in competition. Suamataia, my No. 9 OT in this class, took snaps at both left and right tackle in college, but he made huge strides while playing on the left side last season. He's strong and quick, and he has the feet to get to the second level in the run game."

In The Athletic's beat writer mock draft 2.0, Chiefs beat writer Nate Taylor took Suamataia at No. 32 overall.

"At this point in the draft, Suamataia could be the best candidate to be a plug-and-play left tackle," Taylor wrote. "The Chiefs still have Wanya Morris, a second-year player, but general manager Brett Veach is always in favor of creating competition at premium positions, especially when it comes to protecting Patrick Mahomes’ blind side."
