Bills Rule Out Multiple Players Entering Divisional Round vs. KC Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are just two days away from taking the field in their Divisional Round playoff matchup. In advance of the game, however, the home team is gaining a clearer picture of who won't be able to play on Sunday.
On Friday morning, Bills head coach Sean McDermott provided a series of injury updates. Buffalo will be without four players this weekend: wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee), safety Taylor Rapp (calf), cornerback Christian Benford (knee) and linebacker Baylon Spector (back).
This laundry list of injuries for the Bills is in addition to key players like linebacker Matt Milano (leg) and cornerback Tre'Davious White (Achilles), who are already on the injured reserve list and done for the year. On top of that, three players have their game status in question for Sunday. Cornerback Taron Johnson (concussion), linebacker Terrel Bernard (ankle) and punter Sam Martin (hamstring) are all iffy for the Divisional Round. On Thursday, Johnson and Martin were limited participants in practice and Bernard didn't participate. Bernard will miss Friday's practice as well. All three are reportedly game-time decisions.
Update: On Friday afternoon, it was revealed that the Chiefs will be without Wanya Morris, Skyy Moore and Derrick Nnadi on Sunday. For more, click here.

On the other side, Andy Reid's team has been dealing with just one significant injury situation regarding missed practice time. Nose tackle Derrick Nnadi, who suffered a tricep injury in the Wild Card round, didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Elsewhere, the Chiefs are monitoring ailments with wide receivers Skyy Moore (knee), Kadarius Toney (hip/ankle) and Justyn Ross (hamstring). All three were limited participants in Thursday's practice, with Moore remaining on the injured reserve list for the time being.
Following Thursday's media availability, I dove into some potential game day replacement options for Nnadi should he be inactive:
On the active roster, Neil Farrell is a potential replacement option. The 325-pounder logged 13 defensive snaps in Week 18 and was inactive for the Wild Card round. On the practice squad, the veteran duo of Isaiah Buggs and Matt Dickerson has plenty of combined experience. Dickerson played in 12 games with the Chiefs during the regular season, and Buggs isn't too far removed from a successful stint with the Detroit Lions. Teams have unlimited practice squad activations during the postseason.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will speak to the media on Friday afternoon and potentially provide fresh clarity on Kansas City's injury situation.
