The Kansas City Chiefs are just a handful of days away from a Week 3 meeting with the Chicago Bears, but the team is at far from full strength on the health front.

Taking the podium on Wednesday morning, head coach Andy Reid rattled off a list of five players who are currently nursing various ailments. This is a stark contrast from his comments on Monday when he didn't have much to share. The updated collection of players includes running back Isiah Pacheco, receivers Richie James and Kadarius Toney, as well as linebackers Nick Bolton and Willie Gay Jr.:

  • James: knee/MCL (details not specified)
  • Pacheco: hamstring contusion
  • Toney: sprained toe
  • Bolton: sprained ankle
  • Gay: quad contusion

Per Reid, the duo of Bolton and Gay participated in the Chiefs' morning walkthrough. None of the aforementioned five players will practice on Wednesday afternoon, however, and all but James were described as "day-to-day" by Reid. James's MCL injury may be a longer-term situation than his other teammates who will miss practice.

Entering Kansas City's Week 2 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday, Toney and James were on the injury report with knee injuries. Reid briefly mentioned following the game that Toney was dealing with a minor foot issue. Bolton and Gay exited the game at different points on Sunday afternoon, although they both managed to return and helped Steve Spagnuolo's defense secure the victory.

Pacheco, who spent a good chunk of training camp and the preseason recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, carried the ball 12 times for 70 yards in Week 2 and resembled the player who burst onto the scene as a rookie. Reid's messaging indicates that none of the non-James ailments are serious, with the next few days surely bringing more clarity. The Chiefs' first official, team-issued injury report of the week is expected to be released later on Wednesday.

UPDATE: Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed was limited in practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. Offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor (shoulder), cornerback Nic Jones (hand) and wide receiver Justin Watson (ankle) were all full participants.
