The Chiefs' championship cover features a smiling Mahomes, sandwiched between two fitting pieces of imagery: his second Lombardi Trophy and his quote reminding Chiefs Kingdom that the team isn't planning on slowing down any time soon.

"I'm not gonna say dynasty yet," Mahomes said after the game. "We're not done."

While Mahomes and the Chiefs shared a universal postgame message of their plans to return to the biggest stage in football in the near future, Mahomes certainly wasn't skipping the celebration. In fact, Mahomes acknowledged that this second championship might be even sweeter than his first in part due to being underdogs through much of the preseason and en route to the Super Bowl.

"Yeah, I think it does," Mahomes said. "I wouldn't necessarily say that we were counted out, but there were a lot more critics than there were the previous years I've been here. I told [teammates] at the beginning of the year, I said, 'As long as Andy Reid's coaching, we're going to have success as an offense and I trust in the leaders we have on that defense.' To go from a team that I wouldn't say was a majority pick to even win the AFC West to win the Super Bowl, that speaks to the guys we have in that locker room."

Underdogs or not, Chiefs Kingdom shouldn't need an excuse to celebrate. Click here to get your piece of history, captured by Sports Illustrated.
