The Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII matchup against the San Francisco 49ers is quickly approaching, with Monday's Opening Night festivities bringing plenty of eyes to the reigning champions.

Several members of the Chiefs spoke on designated risers set up at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, ranging from rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice to proven star players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce and even head coach Andy Reid. Fielding questions on this season, Sunday's game and everything in between, there's never a dull moment in one of the more unique events of the NFL year.

With less than a week left until the biggest game of the season, Kelce discussed Kansas City's pursuit of a second championship in a row. In fact, he thinks LVIII is the ring he wants the most.

"I've been on a mission ever since I won my first Super Bowl," Kelce said. "We made it back to the Super Bowl after 2019 [and] obviously lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's motivated me to get back to this point right here. You'll hear me say this a lot, but I want this one more than I've ever wanted a Super Bowl in my life. And it's because of the type of team we have and the people we have in this thing, but also because that tier of teams that have done it twice have gone down in history as some of the greats."

If the Chiefs emerge with a victory this weekend, it will be the third ring that Kelce, Mahomes and Reid have won together as tight end, quarterback and head coach. They don't need it to cement their respective legacies as Hall of Fame talents, but it'd further establish them as dominant figures in the modern era of football anyway. For Kelce, someone who's already set plenty of receiving records for his position, he'd be tied for second place among all tight ends in championship victories.

Team success wasn't the only thing Kelce discussed. On Sunday night, Kelce's girlfriend Taylor Swift was awarded Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 66th annual Grammy Awards for her "Midnights" project. Swift, perhaps the biggest star in the singer-songwriter world right now, has 14 Grammy wins and announced her upcoming album, "The Tortured Poets Department" upon winning her Sunday award. Kelce, asked about Swift, tipped his cap to her for reaching such rarefied air.

"She's unbelievable," Kelce said. "She's rewriting the history books herself. I told her I'll have to hold up my end of the bargain and come home with some hardware, too."

With Swift's impressive accomplishments taking the pop culture world by storm, some of that has carried over to the NFL audience. The Kelce-Swift romance has been one of the biggest stories of the past calendar year, especially when Swift's The Eras Tour featured shoutouts to the Chiefs' superstar pass-catcher. Kelce may not be winning music awards in his line of work, but he's hoping to be classified in a special era of his own with a triumph over the 49ers.
