Tight End University With KC Chiefs' Travis Kelce Is Back for Another Year

For the third year in a row, Tight End University with Chiefs star Travis Kelce, 49ers star George Kittle and former NFL TE Greg Olsen is back.

The NFL's best offseason event for tight ends is back, as Tight End University is returning for another year and is slated to run from Tuesday, June 20 through Thursday, June 22.

Tight End University, which is sponsored by Charmin again this year, is hosted and put together by a collection of some of the greatest talent the position has ever seen. Not only is Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce helping lead the way, but San Francisco 49ers standout George Kittle is also a major part of the effort and former NFL tight end Greg Olsen also has a hand in the fire.

Dubbed "TEU" for short, the program started off as more of an informal meet-up that Kittle and Olsen discussed one offseason. With Kittle staying in Nashville, TN area at the time and Olsen planning on joining him to work with him and a few other players nearby, it eventually evolved into a full-scale effort once Kelce also teamed up. Olsen notes that the first TEU had roughly 50 players attend in year one, with 80 or so players the second time around and a similar number expected to be present this week. Here's more on what TEU is, courtesy of the event's website

Founded in 2021 by NFL Tight Ends George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen, Tight End University was created to bring the Tight End community together for an immersive three-day program. Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more. In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game.

Beyond supporting our athletes, TEU is also driven to give back to the community through a variety of charitable initiatives. Thanks to the help of our sponsors, we are able to help raise money for various organizations and at the conclusion of the event donate all proceeds to charities selected by our hosts.

Some notable players committed to attending the 2023 edition of TEU include Chiefs tight end Jody Fortson, as well as Foster Moreau of the New Orleans Saints, Robert Tonyan of the Chicago Bears, Tyler Higbee of the Los Angeles Rams, Mo Alie-Cox of the Indianapolis Colts, Evan Engram of the Jacksonville Jaguars and many others. Kelce is very fond of the opportunity to mentor the league's brightest young talents, which is something he recently said he's embracing in the later stages of his career. Just last week, the 33-year-old tight end spoke a bit about extending a helping hand for both the Chiefs and the rest of the NFL.

“The young guys, the guys that are kind of like still getting molded into this offense that you’ll see this year – any bit of advice I can give to anybody - and that’s kind of across the league - I’ll give nuggets of gold over here at Tight End U coming up next week or what I think are nuggets of gold," Kelce said. "And it’ll be – I’m here to try to get everybody to be at their best and still got that confidence that what we do over here is always going to be, you know, number one.”
