Travis Kelce on KC Chiefs' Post-Super Bowl LVIII Trip Back to Las Vegas

On New Heights, Kelce detailed going back to Las Vegas with his teammates after winning Super Bowl LVIII.

When the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers, their offseason was unorthodox due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year's stint following a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles was nothing short of hectic. After a third ring in five seasons, things are a bit less chaotic now.

Don't get it twisted, though: Kansas City is still making time to celebrate another win against San Francisco on the biggest stage.

On this week's edition of the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce spoke about life since Super Bowl LVIII. Not only has the team experienced a parade, but there's been plenty of partying in between. Late last month, Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and several teammates made their triumphant returns to Las Vegas for the first time since their business trip.

According to Kelce, this was something everyone planned ahead for. As long as the season ended with a championship, that is.

"We went back [and] had some fun," Kelce said. "We had been talking about doing it all year if we got a chance to win the Super Bowl again and sure enough, those memories you get of the aftermath with the guys is stuff I'll remember for the rest of my life. You've (Jason) done it, but the teams are never the same. Even to this day, you know, a handful of decisions have been made with the Chiefs and a few guys aren't with us. I wanted to make sure that I got every chance to enjoy this with those guys immediately afterwards, and it was definitely well worth it. It was definitely well worth it."

Indeed, the Chiefs' roster has the potential to look quite a bit different after that big win. Not only has there already been a report about wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling getting released, but free agency is right around the corner. Players on both sides of the ball will hit the open market, and none of them are guaranteed to return. If Kansas City captures an elusive three-peat next season, it'll be with a different version of the team than the one that took the field less than a month ago.

Getting back to Vegas allowed the Chiefs to relive the excitement of the season one more time. Over the next several weeks and months, old faces will depart and new ones will enter the fold. The organization is hopeful that its offseason decisions will pave the way for a successful the 2024-25 campaign. With players like Kelce and Mahomes now being seasoned veterans when it comes to post-Super Bowl celebrations, they'll look to have another one in New Orleans a year from now.
