The 2023-24 NFL season has seen many teams emerge as possible contenders, and the Kansas City Chiefs are far from the only three-loss team in the AFC. Three other clubs join them in the conference as competitors, with Andy Reid's team already having faced two of them this year.

In fact, old friend Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins squared off against the Chiefs back in Week 9. That contest in Germany ended in a seven-point victory for the "home" team and Hill made a critical mistake in-game. Despite that, the All-Pro wide receiver isn't lacking confidence that it wasn't an indication of where the two teams are.

Recently appearing on CBS Sports Golazo, Hill was asked about his belief in this year's Miami squad. Not only did he say he thinks the Dolphins have the "perfect" team to win Super Bowl LVIII, but he also referenced his previous team in the process. Are the current Dolphins better than the 2019-20 Chiefs that defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV with Hill? He thinks so:

"All the way to the Super Bowl? Of course, man. We've got the perfect team to do it. The way our head coach prepares us each and every week, man, it's next level. And he keeps each and every one of his guys in tune with the game plan and how we keep attention to detail each and every week. It's a beautiful thing to see. Like the way we practice [and] the way we play for one another is something that I've never seen before in a team. I won a Super Bowl, and I feel like this is probably the better team than when we won a Super Bowl back when I was on KC."

With that said, he also knows that looking great "on paper" and actually living up to the hype are two different things:

"All we've got to do, though, is we've got to come out, obviously, we've got to practice, we've got to prepare and we've got to make sure we show up on game day. You feel me? It can look good on paper, but we've obviously got to get it done on Sundays."

Does Hill's opinion have some merit to it? Those Super Bowl Chiefs finished the year with the No. 5 scoring offense in the NFL and boasted the league's seventh-best scoring defense. In 14 regular-season games, Patrick Mahomes threw for 4,031 yards 25 touchdowns and just five interceptions with a passer rating of 105.3. This year's Miami team is second in scoring offense, but its No. 23-ranked scoring defense indicates that there's some work left to do on that end. Tua Tagovailoa is having a great year under center (3,177 yards, 22 touchdowns and 10 picks with a 103.7 passer rating), although it's hard to argue that he's a notable step up over Mahomes.

On paper, as Hill alluded to, this Dolphins club is undoubtedly scary. The duo of himself and Jaylen Waddle at receiver is terrifying to face, especially with an innovative head coach in Mike McDaniel and an effective quarterback like Tagovailoa slinging the rock around. On the other hand, it's hard to take the assertion with anything more than a grain of salt given that no one has seen this iteration of Miami — or any iteration this century — make a deep playoff run. Can Hill and Co. win a championship this year in a best-case scenario? Sure, but the comparisons should probably stop there.
