The Kansas City Chiefs' 2023 schedule is slowly being revealed, with unofficial leaks coming out in advance and the NFL also sharing some of the biggest events on its regular season slate for the upcoming campaign.

Coming off a Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chiefs have some high-profile matches on the docket for 2023-24. One of them is a Super Bowl rematch, and a couple of outings against bitter AFC rivals (Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills) are also must-watch games. Additionally, Kansas City will see Patrick Mahomes and company take on feisty clubs such as the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings and more.

As far as traditional strength of schedule is concerned, the Chiefs are currently right in the middle of the pack in that regard. Their 2023 opponents' combined record from the previous campaign is 147-140, slotting those foes at a calculated 51.2 winning percentage and putting them one spot behind the San Francisco 49ers and just ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Arrowhead Report is keeping track of everything related to the 2023 schedule release as it pertains to the Chiefs.

Formally announced games on Kansas City Chiefs' 2023 schedule

According to Jordan Schultz of theScore, the Chiefs' season-opener on Thursday, September 7 will be against the Detroit Lions. Kansas City will raise its championship banner and kick off the 2023-24 NFL season against a competitive NFC North team looking to build on a 9-8 2022 campaign. The Week 1 game will be the first meeting between these two clubs since a 2019 matchup that saw the Chiefs win by a final score of 34-30. The Chiefs have since confirmed the home game.

The Chiefs are set to be in Florida taking on the Jaguars in Week 2, according to a Thursday report from Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL.

The NFL's Germany games for the 2023 regular season were announced on Wednesday morning and, as expected, the Chiefs will be heading overseas to take the field at Frankfurt Stadium. Their opponent is a relative shocker, though: the Miami Dolphins. On Sunday, November 5, Mahomes and the Chiefs will face their old friend, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, on the big stage in a Week 9 international outing. Kansas City and Miami's game is the first of back-to-back contests in Germany, with the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots playing on the following Sunday.

Per a tweet from the NFL, the Chiefs will host the Las Vegas Raiders in a Christmas Day AFC West matchup at noon. The Week 16 game will be broadcast on CBS as expected and also on Nickelodeon.

Per a tweet from the Chiefs' official account on Wednesday morning, a Chiefs-Bengals rematch between the two AFC Championship Game foes has been set for Week 17. Kansas City and Cincinnati will see each other on New Year's Eve in a 3:25 CT broadcast on CBS.

Rumored or leaked Kansas City Chiefs 2023 scheduled games

According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, the Chiefs will travel on the road to face Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in Week 4. This Sunday Night Football game is slated to be the first time Mahomes and Rodgers have played against each other.

Per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Chiefs and Eagles will have their Super Bowl rematch game in Week 11, a Monday outing.

Matt Schneidman, Green Bay Packers beat reporter for The Athletic, reports in his full Packers schedule leak that Kansas City will be facing Green Bay at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football in Week 13.
