The Kansas City Chiefs are champions once again, capturing their third ring in five seasons. A dynasty is cemented thanks to a Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Early in the week, the team is celebrating its big-time win and traveling back to Kansas City. Once they're in town, though, it's time for fans to join them in commemorating the city also becoming champions.

For the second year in a row, Kansas City will hold a victory parade for the Chiefs. Those who have attended before will be familiar with the setup, but newcomers may need a refresher on the details. Here's what we know right now about the parade.

Date and time for Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII parade set

It's a Valentine's Day victory parade for Kansas City this year. On the morning of Feb. 14, the Chiefs will begin their route at 11 a.m. local time downtown. As things currently stand, the route is expected to last approximately 90 minutes as players occasionally walk alongside their buses and interact with fans.

Once the parade route concludes, the Chiefs will hold a rally on stage outside Union Station. That's scheduled for right around 12:45 p.m., with the rest of the afternoon slate featuring on-stage speeches from Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, coaches, players and more. The north lawn of the National WWI Museum and Memorial is a popular spot for crowds to gather for the rally. That leg of the festivities is expected to last for about an hour.

Super Bowl LVIII parade route

This year's parade route is eerily similar to last year's. Beginning on Grand Boulevard and 6th Street, the two-mile journey heads south to Pershing Road and then goes west to head for Union Station. Grand, once again, is the main drag of the route. Click here for the complete parade map

For those looking to access Union Station this week, be sure to do so by the end of Tuesday. It'll close at approximately midnight on Tuesday into Wednesday, with a reopening expected around 4:00 p.m. after the parade on Wednesday afternoon.

Weather forecast, traffic information and how to watch

As of Monday morning, the weather forecast for Wednesday is ideal for a parade. The Weather Channel projects a high of 63 degrees with just a 10% chance of rain during the day. Winds are estimated to be right around 10 mph for the most part. Despite this being mid-February in Kansas City, fans in attendance couldn't ask for a much better (tentative) forecast.

Here's some of what will be closed either before or during the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory parade:

  • Pershing Road from Main Street to Kessler Road (starting Monday)
  • Streets running east and west of Grand Boulevard between Walnut & McGee from 6th Street to Pershing Road (starting Tuesday)
  • Main Street from 20th Street to Pershing Road (starting Wednesday)
  • Main Street from Pershing Road to 27th Street (open to pedestrians)

Vehicles can cross at these locations until 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning:

  • 7th Street/Admiral Boulevard
  • Truman Road North and South
  • 18th Street
  • 12th Street until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday
  • 13th Street until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday

For those who aren't attending but want to watch from home, there are plenty of choices available. Local news stations, including broadcast partner KSHB 41, will carry coverage of the victory parade both on television and online for streaming purposes. A fuboTV free trial is a great option to secure a way to follow along.
