Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce to Face Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in ‘The Match'

The NFL's best duo will take on the Splash Brothers in one of the top golf events of the summer.

The NFL and NBA don't cross paths too often but when they do, golf may as well be added into the mix as well. On June 29, that's exactly what's going to happen.

In the 2023 edition of Capital One's The Match, Kansas City Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are set to square off against Golden State Warriors legends Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in one of Turner Sports' most entertaining televised sporting events of the year.

Mahomes and Curry already have experience in The Match, with Curry participating with Peyton Manning back in 2020 and Mahomes being in the sixth edition of the event — partnered with Buffalo Bills star quarterback Josh Allen — held back on June 1 of last year. Just over a calendar year later, Mahomes will partner with one of his best friends in Kelce and aim to take down the "Splash Brothers" of the NBA.

Held at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas for the third time in the event's history, The Match will be a 12-hole competition between the two teams. It's bound to feature live in-round interviews, as well as plenty of highlight-worthy moments from both teams that know a thing or two about having a good time while competing at the highest level. The event will air live on TNT at 6:30 p.m. ET, 5:30 p.m. Kansas City time and 3:30 p.m. local time.

Mahomes and Kelce are one of the NFL's best all-time duos, connecting seemingly countless times and forming truly unique on-field chemistry that has led to the two winning a pair of Super Bowls in the five seasons in which Mahomes has been the Chiefs' full-time starter. Curry and Thompson, two of the NBA's greatest shooters ever, have won four championships in their decade-plus of being teammates. Now, the two pairings will be put to the ultimate test on June 29.
