Colts Add Former Packers RB/Jets WR to Roster

The Indianapolis Colts are bolstering their roster with a few playmakers at important skill positions for depth.

The Indianapolis Colts are elevating a couple of players in areas where depth is needed. The Colts have elevated both running back Tyler Goodson and wide receiver D.J. Montgomery onto the active roster from the practice squad ahead of the matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

Goodson was likely brought onto the roster after the news of Jonathan Taylor’s thumb surgery, which will sideline the star for two to three weeks.

Goodson will bring depth behind veteran Trey Sermon, who will assume backup running back duties to leader Zack Moss. Goodson is a former member of the Green Bay Packers and is going to look for any chance to make a splash in an important game against the Titans if given time on the field to do so.

As for Montgomery, he’s a former member of the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, and Houston Texans. Montgomery has had limited exposure to the field but has plenty of NFL experience and could bring a veteran hand as a depth piece to Shane Steichen’s receiving corps if he’s called upon.

As the Colts fight for playoff positioning in their AFC South battle against the Titans, we’ll see whether either of these players will get snaps or a chance to shine in an important game that could decide Indy's postseason aspirations.
