Colts Receiver Makes Way to Active Roster

The Indianapolis Colts continue to bring on more receiving depth to the active roster ahead of a huge game with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In this story:

The Indianapolis Colts have brought wide receiver Ethan Fernea off of the practice squad and onto the active roster ahead of the Saturday home matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Colts posted on X: “We have elevated WR Ethan Fernea to the active roster from the practice squad.”

Along with this signing of Fernea, the Colts also brought guard Arlington Hambright back to the practice squad after previously waiving him.

This move comes after the Colts brought fellow receiver D.J. Montgomery off the practice squad and onto the 53-man roster. These moves show that the Colts want no depth questions going into a huge game against the Steelers.

It also shows that one of these guys, perhaps Fernea, given his acumen, will be on special teams to some capacity to help on that side of the ball.

While Fernea has only seen one career NFL game, he’s seen plenty of the Colts’ schemes and is fully up to speed on whatever is in store for him.

Regardless of what Fernea’s role is, it is for a good reason, given that the game is a day away. The entire postseason hopes for the Colts are riding on the outcome of this battle against the Steelers.

Can Indianapolis stop the curse of losing to Pittsburgh (eight in a row since 2011)? It will be a pivotal matchup for both teams at Lucas Oil Stadium.
