Colts, Jaguars Injury Report: Hosts in Good Shape Ahead of Opener

The Indianapolis Colts received a pretty good bill of health on their first injury report of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Indianapolis Colts host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday as the two teams kick off their 2023 campaigns.

Although it is only the season opener, both teams are in pretty good shape when it comes to their health and have released their initial injury report for Week 1.

COLTS

WEDNESDAY

  • Limited Participant — RB Zack Moss (arm)
  • Full Participant — LB Shaquille Leonard (concussion)

Moss is likely to be the Colts' starting running back with Jonathan Taylor out, but Moss has been out since late July with a broken arm. While his return to practice is a positive sign, he still needs to get back into football shape after several weeks off.

As for Leonard, he's been progressing through the concussion protocol over the last week or so and is now a full participant. With him doing so already by Wednesday, it's a good sign that he could be ready to go by Sunday. However, will he be on a pitch count after a return from back surgery held him to just three games in 2022?

JAGUARS

WEDNESDAY

  • Did Not Participate — S Antonio Johnson (hamstring)
  • Limited Participant — DL Tyler Lacy (hip)

The Jaguars also only have a pair of players on the injury report, but their list is made of depth players who may have been on the gameday inactives list regardless. The rookie Lacy is a backup defensive lineman while Johnson is listed as the fifth safety on Jacksonville's roster.
