Colts, Ravens Announce Inactives Ahead of Sunday's Matchup

The Indianapolis Colts announced seven inactives ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, including a couple of surprises.

The Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens didn't need much help compiling their lists of inactive players ahead of Sunday's matchup, as both teams are dealing with absences involving significant contributors.

  • DT Adetomiwa Adebawore
  • CB Darrell Baker Jr.
  • OL Arlington Hambright
  • C Ryan Kelly (concussion)
  • DE Isaiah Land
  • TE Will Mallory
  • QB Anthony Richardson (concussion)

The biggest news for the Colts is obviously being without their franchise quarterback in Richardson as well as his center in Kelly as both recover from concussions. In their place will be Gardner Minshew and Wesley French, respectively.

The biggest surprise here is Baker being a healthy scratch, as he has been the Colts' top outside cornerback in sub-packages since the beginning of training camp. He had a rough performance in Week 2 but to go totally inactive a week later is a bit of an eyebrow-raiser.

Likewise, Mallory being inactive isn't necessarily a surprise since fellow tight end Drew Ogletree is returning to the field from a concussion, but both of Mllory's catches last week went for first downs, including the 43-yarder that became his first-career reception.

  • WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle)
  • RB Justice Hill (foot)
  • CB Marlon Humphrey (foot)
  • C Tyler Linderbaum (ankle)
  • OT Ronnie Stanley (knee)
  • OLB Odafe Oweh (ankle)
  • S Marcus Williams (pectoral)

Beckham, Hill, Humphrey, Linderbaum, Oweh, Stanley, and Williams were all ruled out by Friday. As Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner put it, the Ravens will be without “two of their top three RBs (Dobbins and Hill), their most experienced WR, their best pass blocker, their best run blocker, their top edge rusher, their best CB and their top ball hawk.”
