The Colts' Season is Over After Falling to Texans, 23-19
The Indianapolis Colts' 2023 season has ended.
At Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday night, the Colts fell to the Houston Texans, 23-19, shutting the door on any possibility of them making the postseason in a matchup where the winner went on to the playoffs and the loser went home.
The Colts conclude their overachieving campaign with a 9-8 record, reaching far beyond what many outsiders thought would be a season of struggles. Still, the sudden halt will bring disappointment for a team that had legitimate postseason aspirations.
It was a back-and-forth game for the Colts and Texans, particularly in the second half where there were four lead changes.
The Colts hung tough throughout the game but came up short with the game on the line on a 4th-and-1 at Houston's 15-yard line with just over a minute remaining, as quarterback Gardner Minshew threw a short pass to running back Tyler Goodson, who had to change his trajectory to adjust and dropped it as a result.
