Indianapolis Colts Sign Veteran Wide Receiver

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Monday that they signed veteran free-agent wide receiver Breshad Perriman and waived rookie undrafted free agent wide receiver Tyler Adams.

The Indianapolis Colts added to their wide receiver room on Monday when they announced the signing of former Baltimore Ravens first-round pick Breshad Perriman, who was chosen in 2015 out of the University of Central Florida.

In a corresponding move, the Colts also waived rookie undrafted free agent wide receiver Tyler Adams.

Perriman has been a journeyman to date throughout his NFL career:

Perriman is 29 years old and has appeared in 80 games over his career. He has totaled 2,343 yards and 16 touchdowns. His best season came in 2019 with the Tampa Buccaneers, where he had 36 catches for 645 yards and 6 touchdowns. The majority of that production came in the final three weeks of the 2019 season, where he made the most of his larger role due to injuries in the Buccaneers' receiver room:

With the new offensive coaching staff in place for the Colts, the fringe roster spots are even more up for grabs than usual. The signing of Perriman makes the receiver room battles in training camp even more intriguing. With 5-7 jobs up for grabs, the team has a combination of veterans and youth who will be fighting for a roster spot. Below are the current receivers on the team's roster after the signing of Perriman:

  • Kody Case (UDFA)
  • Josh Downs (2023 third-round pick)
  • Ashton Dulin
  • Ethan Fernea
  • Johnny King
  • Isaiah McKenzie (UDFA)
  • Breshad Perriman (UDFA)
  • Alec Pierce
  • Michael Pittman Jr.
  • Zavier Scott (UDFA)
  • Vyncint Smith
  • Mike Strachan
  • Malik Turner
  • Juwann Winfree
