Colts Working Out Former Alabama, Ravens Receiver
With the 2023 NFL Draft mere days away, the focus has been almost completely on positional needs, quarterback, and the future of the team for the Indianapolis Colts.
One of the positions that are still thin is the wide receiver spot. However, the Colts are working out a former Baltimore Ravens pass-catcher this week.
Slade Bolden’s name might not jump off the page at a reader, but depth is key at the receiver position. Not to mention, with a team that has a young quarterback likely coming into town, reliable hands are a happy welcome for the new field general’s passes.
Bolden played at Alabama from 2019 to 2021. Through those seasons, he would compile 30 games played, 68 receptions for 712 yards, and 4 touchdowns. He’d also snag a championship for the 2020 season when the Crimson Tide defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes, 52-24.
After hitting the NFL Scouting Combine, he would go undrafted, but before long would be picked up by the Ravens. However, per Pro Football Reference, he would be released on October 18, 2022. Could Bolden be added to the Colts? With a six-foot and nearly 200-pound frame, he might have an impact given a chance.
He also padded on a 4.66-second 40-yard dash time and could be someone that Indianapolis may add to the special teams. This workout/tryout being held by Colts head coach Shane Steichen will be Bolden’s opportunity to shine, and potentially be a part of a fresh start in Indianapolis.
