Colts fans likely remember Davis for being brought to Indianapolis via trade with the Miami Dolphins in 2012. In that acquisition, the Colts gave Miami a second-round selection. Davis immediately made an impact with then-defensive coordinator Greg Manusky.
Davis played for Indianapolis six total seasons (2012-2017) and notched his two Pro Bowl selections (2014 and 2015) in a Colts uniform. He finished his career in 2018 as a member of the Buffalo Bills and infamously retired at halftime of a matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers, never to return to the game of football. For his 10-year career, Davis ended with 395 tackles, 97 passes defended, 22 interceptions, and a defensive score.
The news of this passing is tragic for the NFL world and Davis' loved ones, as he was only 35 years old. With more details perhaps to come, Colts fans will never forget the lock-down style of defense and gentle attitude that Davis brought to Lucas Oil Stadium during his Indianapolis tenure.
