REPORT: Trade Offers Coming in For Jonathan Taylor

The Indianapolis Colts have set a deadline for Jonathan Taylor to be traded, and they have offers on the table.
In this story:

According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter the Indianapolis Colts are now giving Jonathan Taylor a deadline of Tuesday, August 29th to find a trade suitor.

Schefter confirms that the Colts have already received trade offers from two-unknown teams and inquires from half a dozen in total.

Schefter credits ESPN beat writer Stephen Holder with the news.

"Colts have given Jonathan Taylor until Tuesday to find a suitable trade after authorizing the star RB to find a trade partner, per Stephen Holder," wrote Schefter on Twitter. "Six teams have inquired about Taylor’s availability and two have made offers, per Holder."

This simple report from Schefter smashes the notion that a team wouldn’t want to make an offer for a running back, even with the value of the position dwindling in the NFL.

The offers for Taylor’s backfield services have been real and the negotiations are happening. The biggest questions are can a team meet the Colts' valuation, reportedly a first-round pick or combination of picks equal to a first rounder, the health concerns and the money Taylor is demanding.

Teams that have been linked with a trade for Taylor include the Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, LA Rams, and the Miami Dolphins.

Alain Poupart of AllDolphins reports, "The #MiamiDolphins’ interest in running back Jonathan Taylor is legit, legit enough that they’ve made the Indianapolis Colts a trade offer for the 2021 NFL rushing leader."

If Taylor does find a new trade suitor by the deadline that the Colts have imposed, it will change whatever offense he lands with and could help a team that feels close to a Super Bowl run make that a reality.

The “Taylor vs. Indianapolis” saga continues, until next Tuesday at least. What will come of this urgency?

Will Taylor be able to get the contract he wants and move to another franchise in the process? Or, will he stay put in Indianapolis and help the development of a young team and rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson?

There’s still six days left before we know.
