The Indianapolis Colts are hoping for a fresh start for the organization with their hiring of new head coach Shane Steichen, and now we know when his players can join him and his staff in the building for the beginning of the offseason program.

The Colts will get things rolling on April 10 for Phase 1, which consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only, per NFL Communications. The Colts can get started a week early due to having a new head coach.

They will then hold a voluntary minicamp from April 24-26 with OTAs following in sessions between May 23-25, May 31-June 2, and June 5-8. The offseason will conclude with the mandatory minicamp from June 13-15.

During Phase 2 of the offseason program, which is the three weeks following Phase 1, "On-field workouts may include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as 'perfect play drills,' and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk through pace. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted," per NFL Communications.

Phase 3 is the final four weeks of the offseason program where teams may conduct no more than 10 days of "practice activity" or "OTAs." The teams can begin 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills but live contact is not allowed. We've seen teams get penalized for this in the recent past.

Outside of the offseason grind for the Colts' veterans, the dates for the team's rookie program will also be announced at a later time. Teams can hold a rookie minicamp on either the first or second weekend following the 2023 NFL Draft, which takes place April 27-29.
