Washington Football Team Practice Report - Friday September 4th

The Washington Football Team held their final practice before their roster goes down by almost 30 initially and then will bounce back up.

A Friday practice nine days before the regular season opener but more importantly 24 or so hours before one-third or so of the roster loses their job is never fun.

It's like going to a wake knowing that the worst part is still to come for many in attendance.

Such is life in the NFL. The roster will be cut down to 53 by Saturday at 4 PM ET.

There's still time to get ready for Philadelphia and to get healthy but the following players were out once again for Ron Rivera's crew.

The team broke down the attendance/unofficial injury list into two groups.

Not in attendance was Kendall Fuller, Simeon Thomas and Aaron Colvin.

Not participating were Jonathan Allen, Morgan Moses, Antonio Gandy-Golden, Mike Liedtke, Thomas Davis and Saahdiq Charles

That's two consecutive practices that Moses has missed. Charles has missed the last three weeks. Gandy-Golden has missed about a week. Allen has been out since Sunday and Fuller hasn't participated in well over a week.

It's not time to panic yet. We can do that on Wednesday.

The big news on Friday was the release of future hall-of-fame running back, Adrian Peterson.

Where we go from here - nobody is exactly sure. For Peterson and for the Washington Football Team.

Rivera spoke with the media after practice about the decision.

Special Teams Coordinator Nate Kaczor also spoke with reporters about his different groups.
