The New York Jets will have some shuffling around at the quarterback position, and it could affect their game against the Washington Commanders.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Jets are activating Aaron Rodgers off of injured reserve. However, the expectation remains that Rodgers will not play for the Jets this season after injuring his Achilles in Week 1.

Rodgers pledged a potential comeback if the Jets were in the playoff hunt. However, after last week's 30-0 loss against the Miami Dolphins, the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention and will have to play out the final three games of the season knowing that the postseason isn't in the cards.

Skepticism still remains about the Jets' quarterback for this week as last week's starter Zach Wilson left the game with a head injury and remains in the NFL's concussion protocol.

Ron Rivera Still Positive Despite Losing Streak

Should Wilson be unable to go, it's likely that Trevor Siemian would draw the start against the Commanders. Siemian, who turns 32 on Tuesday, completed 14 of 26 passes for 110 yards in relief of Wilson on Sunday against the Dolphins, but also threw two interceptions and failed to score any points in the loss.

The Jets and Commanders are set to kick off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET inside MetLife Stadium.
