The secrets atop the 2024 NFL Draft are starting to show themselves.

It was a week ago when the Chicago Bears made it pretty clear that they'll be taking Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick. Now comes your Washington Commanders and what to do at No. 2.

On Saturday, new coach Dan Quinn essentially confirmed that the Commanders will be going in the direction of QB.

"I would say it'd be fair to envision we'd be taking a quarterback," Quinn said, via NFL.com. "To say where it'll be happening, I think that's a better question for (general manager) Adam (Peters). As the next weeks unfold there'll be a lot of discussion, and that's why we've had a great trip out seeing some guys, we'll do that some more in the weeks ahead, but I've enjoyed that process with Adam, and going through it. He's somebody that is an absolute expert at this position, what it looks like, where to go, and so going through that process has been really cool."

As OK, that's the "what.'' Now for the "who'' ...

There is no reason for the Commanders to announce that. Right now the debate largely centers around two guys: North Carolina's Drake Maye vs. LSU's Jayden Daniels. What we have heard is that Quinn, for one, values the mobility of a QB ... speaking generally.

And speaking specifically? Daniels is much more mobile. ... with a comp to Lamar Jackson of the Ravens - which would work just fine here in D.C.

The Commanders have already traded last year's starter Sam Howell to the Seahawks, and Jacoby Brissett is gone to the Patriots. Marcus Mariota and Jake Fromm are here. A starting job is available.

And that's no secret, either.
