Patriots' Bill Belichick to Coach Commanders After Dan Snyder Sells?

The Washington Commanders could be looking for a new coach in 2024. Could Bill Belichick be an option?
In this story:

Bill Belichick is the undisputed face of the New England Patriots organization ... but could that change in the future?

Pro Football Talk threw out the idea that the 2023 season could mark Belichick's last in New England if the Patriots continue to rebuild and are looking for a change ... and mentioned the Washington Commanders as a potential new destination.

Assuming the franchise is sold within the next couple of weeks, the new owner could be looking to make a major splash and his own imprint on the organization. By hiring arguably the best coach of all-time, the new Commanders owner would certainly be doing that.

Washington has had Ron Rivera at the helm for the past three seasons, compiling a 22-27-1 record throughout his tenure. While Rivera is one of the most respected head coaches in the league, the level of success has not been strong enough to keep his job beyond the 2023 season ... especially if a new owner wants to bring in someone on his own.

There's obviously a lot of dominoes that have to fall in order to get Belichick to Washington in 2024 ... Rivera would have to continue to underperform, the Patriots will have to want to move on from Belichick, and he would also have to want to come to the Commanders.

Unlikely? Sure. Impossible? We can't say no just yet.
