It's Week 8 and the injury situation stays murky for the Washington Redskins as they enter their midweek match-up with the Minnesota Vikings. Washington comes with a cadre of absentees, most of whom were ruled out prior to the official announcement of inactive players. It's not all bad news for the Redskins, however, as two players whose status was up in the air will, in fact, play.

Adrian Peterson, who had practiced only once in a limited fashion with an ankle sprain, will be available for a team incredibly thin at running back. Joining him on the field is cornerback Josh Norman, who was a legitimate game-time decision, is back in the fold after missing practice for the second consecutive week with both thigh and hand injuries. It couldn't come at a better time for a team that has had a depleted secondary for the majority of the season but gets the chance to go against Kirk Cousins, the quarterback the franchise once spurned.

Running back Chris Thompson, sorely missed in the passing game will again be out as he continues his recovery from turf toe. The others are becoming regulars on this list. Tight end Vernon Davis will miss his fourth consecutive game while dealing with the aftermaths of a concussion. The other players ruled out are safeties Montae Nicholson and Deshazor Everett, quarterback Colt McCoy, linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons and guard Wes Martin.

If the odds weren't stacked against Washington enough, the Vikings, who enter the game as 17 point favorites are incredibly healthy. Only one player, albeit an important one in wide receiver Adam Thielen, has been ruled out due to health. The others who won't suit up in tonight's game are well enough to play, but won't due to the coaching staff's decision.
